EGO VERA (2021)

This surreal horror short-film follows a weary office worker as he heads home from a long shift, only to find himself trapped in an uncanny space that defies logic: the backrooms. Whether dream, hallucination, or something worse, he navigates this endless maze haunted by flickers of a faceless mannequin figure. A sudden jump back to his apartment brings no comfort; the mannequin appears again, this time outside his window. Is it a prank? A mental breakdown? Or an entity that followed him back? He experiences unusual voices and anomalies that haunt him and starts to question if he’s just tired, stressed, or actually losing it. We’re left with one final image: his body, lifeless on the floor, only his legs shown. There isn’t a definitive answer. Perhaps it’s don’t overwork yourself. Don’t sleep late. And whatever you do, never engage with what waits outside your window.
